The Military Rape Shield Law (MRE 412)

In this video Mickey Williams and Robert Capovilla discuss Military Rule of Evidence 412, which is commonly known as the rape shield law. This rule of evidence states that evidence offered to prove that your accuser engaged in other sexual behavior is not admissible in military courts. However, Mickey and Robert discuss the exceptions to this general rule and how to win your case by filing the right MRE 412 motion. Often, MRE 412 evidence will be the difference between winning and losing your case. Call us today if you have questions about your accuser’s previous sexual history or sexual predisposition and we will help you navigate these murky waters.
