San Antonio, TX, Military Defense Lawyers
San Antonio, a city of more than 1.5 million residents in south-central Texas, has many cultural and historical attractions. Perhaps the loveliest, though, is the River Walk along the San Antonio River, which flows southward through the middle of the city. The River Walk allows pedestrians to stroll along the river for fifteen miles; shops, restaurants, and more line the five-mile stretch that meanders through downtown. The genesis of the River Walk dates to the 1920s. However, in 1939, thanks to funding from the Works Progress Administration, significant work began, including the construction of the first walkways and bridges. The plantings installed then still provide shade and beauty. In addition to tourism, San Antonio’s economy is based on oil and gas, financial services, and healthcare. The area is also home to several military facilities, including Joint Base San Antonio.
